Ceiling light made out of shells and glass circa 1900

SKU: 2148
This really unusual ceiling light made out of shells and glass. It is constructed of lead work to the lower half and the upper half has some kind of mortar to hold the shells in place. Looking at the hooks that hold the chain, we would date it at circa 1900. As you can see from the picture, it looks great lit up and is a very interesting piece. We have never seen anything like it before. The piece is 21 cm high without the chain.
